Our Workshop Closure And The Circular Economy: Loo…

We invite our volunteer community to join in to repair and refurbish what we can.

Our organization remains committed to social good while transitioning away from the workshop model. We are actively exploring alternative strategies to continue supporting our community in responsible and impactful ways. One potential avenue involves enhancing collaboration with local businesses and artisans skilled in furniture refurbishment. By leveraging these local talents, we can still extend the lifespan of furniture items and further promote the principles of the circular economy.

In addition, our corporate volunteer programs will evolve, focusing on other valuable activities within Furniture Bank, with a focus on enhancing the items we already have, and assisting with existing projects such as kitchen and bedding kits. These activities not only align with our sustainability goals but also foster a sense of community and shared purpose among participants.

We are determined to uphold our mission of transforming lives and spaces while being mindful of environmental and financial sustainability. Your continued support, whether through volunteering, donations, or spreading the word about our initiatives, is crucial. Together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future for everyone.

As we kick off this new chapter, we’re reinforcing our commitment to a sustainable and inclusive future. Closing our workshop might feel like the end of an era, but it also marks the beginning of new possibilities fuelled by innovation and community spirit. We are dedicated to adapting and thriving, driven by our mission to create homes filled with dignity and hope. We are paving the way toward a more sustainable, interconnected, and compassionate world.

Stay tuned to follow our journey.
